On Monday we were invited to the media opening of this restaurant in Quarry Park SE.  We were quite excited to attend as this was our first official media invitation which lets us know that our blog has been getting more and more traction and we have become invite worthy.  The event was put on by Cohn & Wolfe Public Relations company, and they with the new franchise owners put on quite an evening.

Let me start by saying this restaurant is BEAUTIFUL. We were told by Mike, the Manager of the corporate store in Toronto who was in town for the opening, that this is the first of their restaurants with this design and it is a winner for sure! Gorgeous rich wood tables and bar with red accents and lots of light.  The bar it self is a sight to be seen and will no doubt be a great after work drink venue for the many business people in the office buildings near by.

Samples of some of their menu items were served by the staff on platters that seemed to constantly circulate the room. Some of these delicious items included, medium rare sirloin with peppercorn sauce, chicken tenders with house made dijonnaise and barbecue sauce, deep chocolate walnut brownie and apple cobbler. But the best of the best were the BBQ pork back ribs that Baton Rouge is famous for. My mouth is watering just writing about them. They are likely the most flavorful and tender ribs Calgary has to offer and were literally “fall off the bone” good.  They were by far the hit of the evening and for very good reason. Head down to Baton Rouge to see what a chain restaurant from Quebec is like.
